Last night we went on a riverboat cruise, it was pretty sweet. The night was pleasant and the music, even more so… They most definitely played Def Leppard’s Pour Some Sugar On Me. Sometime, anytime…
Yesterday I went for the first ride of the summer. In fact I think it’s the first time I’ve been out in at least a year. The day was most excellent despite only covering about 14 miles. That’s ok I’m working on it.
1/2 price Mondays, that is. Today was the first day back to summer class and I was most definitely dreading it. The day turned out to be much better than I expected. With a trip to Keystone how could it not have?
My time in Texas has ended for the time being. Hopefully, in a few months I’ll be heading back. I never thought I’d say it but I actually enjoyed my time there and am looking forward to returning. Who knew? Soda Gallery, I’ll miss you. Austin Ranch, eh not so much.
So far my Texas experience has gotten off to a rocky start, which has had nothing to do with Texas at all. I should add that it’s getting better by the day. We experienced a wee bit of drama on the drive down, no biggie, all is well. Apparently those tiny little tires on a Honda Fit are a very special size which makes them hard to come by. Besides I met some interesting characters along the way. The next bump in the road, admittedly, is still a sore spot and is entirely of my own stupidity. It still hurts though. I managed to drive all the way here with an expired license *GAH* How do I manage these things? That being said, I have to head back home to get it straightened out. Oh well, at least I didn’t get pulled over on the way down.
My entire purpose for being here in sunny Texas is for co-op and wouldn’t ya know it we were getting rock star treatment before we even set foot in the place. It’s only been a week and I have to say I’m digging this co-op so far, the people are swell and the projects are super cool.
I saw this dude rockin’ a Big Wheel along Colerain Avenue today. I have to give this guy credit, he was rippinng down the sidewalk like he meant it and was moving at lightning speed (you know, for being on a Big Wheel). It was equally amusing that his destination was where else but Auto Zone.
Now that’s what I call irony. This parking meter is located outside of daap on UC’s campus, where they’ve been busy “revamping” the parking accommodations. I’m not sure of the intent of said revamping but it seems to be a failure from multiple standpoints.
I saw this sweet ride on my way home from school today and thought it was nifty.
I have recently been introduced to the deliciousness known as La Mexicana Restaurant located on Monmouth Street in Newport, KY. This is the giant flag burrito. Not only is it a feast for the tummy but for the eyes too! It’s a pretty darn yummy burrito topped with some of the best salsas I have ever experienced.
This past weekend we went on a tour of the Maker’s Mark distillery. After a quick tour of the grounds and distillery process, the outing ended with a taste of bourbon and a piece of Maker’s Mark chocolate. Not a bad way to spend some free time.
